Relational business: the economic diplomacy of Morocco in Western Africa

King Mohammed VI to Senegal, Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau and Gabon to assess the state of progress of partnership projects launched in order to strengthen the presence of Morocco within the sub-Saharan Africa

It’s a new, constant and effective format of economic diplomacy the one of King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, whose destination for the third time in three years is Western Africa.

It’s not about tourism: Senegal, Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau and Gabon are indeed the stages of the “business tour” started last 20th May 2015 to assess the implementation of partnership programmes launched by Morocco with sub-Saharan Africa and to promote a further South-South cooperation, also through signing different agreements and conventions between the public and private field of Morocco and partner countries.

Real estate, finance and insurance, ICT, infrastructures and agriculture are the main fields where the companies of the Kingdom of Morocco export their know-how to sub-Saharan countries. In 2013, King Mohammed VI had visited Senegal, Guinea, Ivory Coast and Gabon and in 2014 Mali, Ivory Coast, Guinea and Gabon.

Design is a thought activity: we should not replace it with a mere “optimizing” approach, because it’s from imperfections that talent emerges.
