From Homer to HOMERe: higher corporate training in the Mediterranean

HOMERe is the name of the programme of the Union for the Mediterranean aimed at developing educational and occupational opportunities in the countries of the South Mediterranean area through internships

With a nice wordplay that recalls Homer, author of the Iliad and the Odyssey, HOMERe is actually an acronym for "Haute Opportunité en Méditerranée pour le Recrutement de cadres d'excellence".

The project, which involves universities and businesses and has the authoritative quality mark of the Union for the Mediterranean, wants to promote employment and the improvement of skills and perspectives of high profile young graduates through the creation of an innovative program of mobility with internships in nine Mediterranean countries (Algeria, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco, Spain and Tunisia). This way the preparation of future company managers of the South Mediterranean area will be enhanced with internships, funded entirely by the UfM, in businesses of the North shore of the Mediterranean.

Design is a thought activity: we should not replace it with a mere “optimizing” approach, because it’s from imperfections that talent emerges.
